Martin Geothermal LLC.

Martin Geothermal LLC offers a earth-science commercial service bundle specific to the geothermal industry, with emphasis on the initial phases of geothermal reservoir assessment primarily for directly utilizing the geothermal energy for commercial purposes such as industrial applications and district heating. Headquartered in Reno, Nevada, USA, we specialize in deep direct-use (DDU) and 5th Generation District Energy (5G DES) design in the Reno-Tahoe region of northern Nevada and California.

A dedicated proponent of direct-utilization of geothermal energy, Martin Geothermal is currently involved with projects leading to industrial developments of low-temperature (50-130°C) applications in the Reno-Tahoe region, as described in papers published with the Geothermal Rising Conference (GRC; Martin; 2021, 2022; posted below). Working with local, state, and federal government officials and organizations, Martin Geothermal is working to expedite local direct-use projects with the goal of helping to reduce our carbon footprint, including converting natural gas systems to geothermal energy networks.

CONSULTING

Consulting primarily on geothermal potential of a geothermal reservoir (private and/or commercial) for industrial use,  including initial study/assessment of geothermal potential.

SURVEYING

Geophysical surveys including

magnetotelluric sounding, gravity, and seismic measurements help to image subsurface geothermal activity with their respective structural controls associated with geothermal reservoirs in order to delineate drill targets.

MODELING

Rendering a 3D model of the subsurface from recorded geophysical survey data and geologic data using specialized algorithms in order to reduce risk and increase success probability when assessing drill targets as well as help to properly engineer reservoirs long after well installation and production.
